Zack Greinke was very good in his return to Kansas City tonight, but received a no-decision despite allowing just one run over seven innings. It must have felt like the old days with the Royals for Greinke, as he pitched well enough to win but received just one run of support.
Fortunately for Greinke, this doesn't happen often. This is only the third time as a Brewer Greinke has allowed one run or less and not picked up the win:
| Date | Opponent | IP | H | R | BB | K | Team Result |
| May 9, 2012 | Reds | 8 | 2 | 0 | 0 | 11 | Lost, 2-1 |
| June 12, 2012 | Royals | 7 | 6 | 1 | 0 | 8 | Lost, 2-1 |
| September 13, 2011 | Rockies | 5 | 5 | 1 | 2 | 9 | Won, 2-1 |
As a Royal Greinke allowed one run or less in 18 no decisions as a starter and four losses.
