News and Notes:
- Former Pirates pitching prospect turned infield prospect Stetson Allie will begin his third base career in rookie ball in the Gulf Coast League with the GCL Pirates.
- The Cubs have signed 15 of their 42 picks from this month's draft. Their first round pick, outfielder Albert Almora, who was taken with the No. 6 pick, however, isn't among them.
- Injured Cubs catcher Geovany Soto is on schedule to be activated on Monday if his weekend at Triple-A Iowa goes as planned.
- Koyie Hill has cleared waivers and has been outrighted to Triple-A Iowa. Hill was designated for assignment on Thursday by the Cubs.
- Bud Norris has been placed on the 15-day disabled list by the Astros and left-hander Dallas Keuchel has been called up to make Sunday's start. Keuchel will be making his major league debut with the start.
- The Cincinnati Enquirer has an update on the slew of injured Reds.
