The June amateur player draft begins tonight at 6 p.m. central. Round 1 and the compensation pick "sandwich round" are scheduled for this evening, the rest of the draft will be spread over the next two days. The Brewers will pick 27th, 28th, and 38th; 27 and 38 come from the Tigers as compensation for the loss of Prince Fielder.

We'll be watching tonight to see how the new collective bargaining rules impact the draft, as teams with big payrolls will no longer be able to over-pay mid round high schoolers and will instead have to take players at the slot value they plan on paying them. Check out Nathan Petrashek's post from earlier today to see some of the names we've been talking about as possible Brewer picks, or even better, jump into the thread below to discuss the draft and help us try to figure out who the three newest Brewers will be by the end of the night.

I'll update this post with any relevant draft news and will have some sort of recap story up this evening for a closer look at the selections.
