For whatever reason the Brewers and Padres play three times this season. The second of those three sets opens tonight when the Crew welcomes San Diego to Miller Park for the first time in 2012. We've already talked to Gaslamp Ball once this season, so it's time now for a look back at our favorite Brewer/Padre moments in 2011.

The Brewers faced the Padres five times in 2011, all in May. They went 3-2 in those contests, winning two of three at home and splitting a two game set in San Diego. Let's go to the highlights:

1) Zack Greinke wins his Miller Park debut on May 9

After a rough start to the 2011 season the Brewers were finally starting to show signs of life when the Padres came to town on May 9 and Zack Greinke was part of the cause, holding them to two runs on five hits over six innings and striking out nine in his first home start.

2) Mark Kotsay's three hits lead Brewers to 5-2 win on May 18

Kotsay was still carrying an OPS under .650 after his rough start as a Brewer entering this game but drove in the Brewers' first run with an RBI single in the fourth and tied the game at two in the sixth with this long double:

The Brewers took the lead two batters later on Jonathan Lucroy's RBI HBP.

3) John Axford holds on for the save on May 10

This game should have been over early as the Brewers led 8-0 in the fourth inning, but it was not that easy. The Padres came back with one in the sixth, four in the seventh and another in the ninth to force John Axford to come in and close things out:
