Win Expectancy Graph

Marco Estrada entered tonight's game having struggled recently, but apparently facing the Cubs was the cure for what ailed him. He allowed just two hits and a walk over six shutout innings tonight, striking out nine opposing batters for the fourth time this season. The Brewers carried a shutout into the ninth but Manny Parra and Jim Henderson combined to allow two runs to score before John Axford recorded the final out for his 19th save.

Meanwhile, the Brewers scored five runs on just three hits tonight, but were also walked six times and hit by three pitches. All three Brewer hits (an infield single for Corey Hart, a double for Jonathan Lucroy and a single for Carlos Gomez) drove in runs. Aramis Ramirez was on base three times with two walks and an HBP and scored two runs.

The Brewers' last time at bat ended with a scary moment as Cubs reliever Carlos Marmol and Jean Segura got tangled up at first base and both limped away. Segura, however, was able to remain in the game.

This series wraps up tomorrow when Yovani Gallardo takes on Travis Wood at 1:10.
