MIAMI, FL - SEPTEMBER 04: Pitcher Pitcher Shaun Marcum #18 of the Milwaukee Brewers throws against the Miami Marlins at Marlins Park on September 4, 2012 in Miami, Florida. (Photo by Marc Serota/Getty Images)
Shaun Marcum wasn't terrible tonight, but his outing (5.2 innings, four runs on seven hits) certainly won't go on any highlight reels from the 2012 season. The longball was his nemesis tonight, as three of the four runs plated against him scored on Giancarlo Stanton and Gorkys Hernandez's home runs.
Marlins Park has been a pretty difficult place to hit home runs this season, ranking 14th out of 16 NL parks with 84 homers allowed before tonight. Marcum is only the tenth pitcher this season to allow two home runs in a game there, and just the second to do it without picking up the loss:
