Tonight's Matchup: Brewers (Peralta) @ Marlins (Turner)

Can the Brewers stay hot against one of baseball's top young pitchers?

The current Brewer hot streak started when they beat Cliff Lee on Saturday. They'll get a chance to continue it against a talented pitcher on the opposite end of his career tonight.

At 6:10 tonight in Miami Jacob Turner (0.69 ERA, 3.14 FIP) will make his third start of the season for the Marlins. The former #9 overall pick last pitched on Wednesday, when he allowed a run on four hits over six innings against the Phillies, walking four and striking out four.

Turner joined the Marlins last season in the trade that sent Anibal Sanchez and Omar Infante to Detroit. He's no longer rookie-eligible this season, but Baseball America and ranked him as the game's 22nd and 15th best prospect for 2012, respectively. He'll throw a low-to-mid 90's fastball with a curve, slider and changeup. According to FanGraphs' pitch values, his fastball and curve are both excellent.

Turner has never faced the Brewers in the majors.

He'll face the Brewers' top young pitcher, 24-year-old righty Wily Peralta (6.16 ERA, 4.48 FIP). Peralta's first full major league season has been something of a roller coaster and it's on the downslope right now, as demonstrated by the five runs he allowed on seven hits over five innings against the Phillies on Thursday.

Peralta has failed to record an out in the sixth inning in four of his last five starts and has a 7.61 ERA over that time. He's getting crushed by lefties, who collectively have hit .328/.388/.460 against him over 153 plate appearances. The good news is that he's been better on the road, posting a 4.70 ERA over five starts.

Peralta has never faced the Marlins in the majors.

Tonight's Brewer lineup is as follows:

Norichika Aoki RF
Jean Segura SS
Carlos Gomez CF
Aramis Ramirez 3B
Jonathan Lucroy C
Logan Schafer LF
Rickie Weeks 2B
Yuniesky Betancourt 1B
Wily Peralta P

And in the bullpen:

The forecast in Miami calls for a game-time temperature around 80 with isolated thunderstorms as the night goes along. Thankfully they can close the roof so it won't rain on The Clevelander.
