HR: Jean Segura (11)
MVP: Wily Peralta (+.448 WPA)
LVP: Carlos Gomez (-.112)
While walking the concourse, though, I looked up at a TV and noticed the Brewers were winning. I mentioned to Kevin that it's amazing how fast this team has gone from a source of some optimism to the point where it's a surprise when they even take the lead. I was even more surprised to get home and find out they won.
Wily Peralta had a potential job-saving outing tonight, shutting out the Braves for seven innings and allowing just two hits, walking four and striking out four. He recorded 21 outs with just 99 pitches and lowered his ERA about half a run with this single performance.
The Brewer offense gave him just enough help to eke out a victory. They racked up eight hits tonight but six of them belonged to Norichika Aoki and Jean Segura, with everyone else going a combined 2-for-21. One of Segura's hits was his eleventh homer. This is the first time he's ever hit more than ten homers in a season at any professional level.
Jim Henderson was put back in the closer role tonight and recorded the final three outs for his first save since May 21.
