The Angels are not a very good team this season, but you wouldn't have known that tonight.
Jered Weaver and friends shut the Brewers out tonight on just six hits, stranding a combined five runners in scoring position in the fourth, fifth and seventh innings. Jonathan Lucroy (infield single and two walks) and Aramis Ramirez (a walk and a single) were the only Brewers to reach base twice.
No support meant no chance for a win for Wily Peralta, even though he had a quality start. Peralta allowed three runs on four hits over six innings, walking two and striking out six. Peralta is the first Brewer to lose 14 games in a season since Ben Sheets in 2004.
Tyler Thornburg, who the Brewers announced today as Monday's starting pitcher, pitched a scoreless inning in relief tonight.
This series continues tomorrow when Marco Estrada takes on Jerome Williams at 6:10.
