No Wisconsin players among Baseball America's top 20 Midwest League prospects

Tyrone Taylor and Victor Roache were among those snubbed from the postseason list.

Baseball America continues to work their way across the minors with postseason lists of each league's top 20 prospects and today they unveiled the Midwest League list, which features exactly zero Brewer farmhands.

The list was headed by Twins outfielder Byron Buxton, one of four players from Minnesota's organization to make the cut. There are 16 teams in the Midwest League, but Wisconsin was one of eight that weren't represented on this list.

Timber Rattlers snubbed include:

  • Center fielder Tyrone Taylor, who hit .274/.338/.400 in 122 Midwest League games despite still being just 19 years old.
  • 2012 first round pick Victor Roache, who finished third in the league with 22 home runs in his age 21 season.
  • Shortstop Orlando Arcia, who played in 120 games for Wisconsin in his age 18 season.
  • Outfielder Michael Reed, who posted a .286/.385/.400 line in 118 games and posted an on-base streak for over a month at one point.
  • Starting pitcher Tyler Wagner, who finished third in the league with 148.2 innings pitched and posted a 3.21 ERA. That was the lowest mark among Midwest Leaguers with at least 130 innings.

Overall Wisconsin finished sixth in the MWL's Western Division with a 59-76 record on the season. They won the Midwest League Championship in 2012.
