Thank you wonderful folks for signing up for my league. I promise I will try to minimize the possibility of a train wreck as much as possible.
You should have received the league invitation, which I sent a few minutes ago. Please let me know ASAP if you didn't and I'll resend.
As you all probably know, you signed up for a roto league with an auction draft. Right now, the settings are for a standard 5x5 roto league, consisting of runs, stolen bases, batting average, home runs, and runs batted in; and wins, strikeouts, saves, earned run average, and walks + hits per inning pitched. I know I've played in leagues with some of you, but I'm not sure how stat-savvy some of you are. If I had my druthers, we'd play with quality starts instead of wins and on-base percentage instead of batting average. If anyone is uncomfortable with those type of measures, please let me know and we'll go with the standard 5x5.
Roster positions are also something I'd like to know your thoughts on. I like to play with as realistic a team as possible (i.e. specific LF, CF, RF instead of generic OFs). I haven't settled on the final roster composition, but will by the end of the week so you can hone your auction strategy in time.
Speaking of which, I've tentatively scheduled the draft for Sunday, March 30. No one indicated they cared abut the Australia series, and I'm open to whether we should count that in week 1. I'll leave the date and disposition of that initial series open for discussion.
Hopefully, we can make this a fun adventure. Thanks for joining me on it.
