Due to the absolute inability of the US visa system to correctly identify a list of convictions that would have put even Elijah Dukes to shame (and my keeping quiet when asked the official question around involvement in the Nazi party from 1933 to 1945) it looks like I'll finally be heading over to the States in early August.
Of course, my main aim is to watch the Brewers but if there isn't any major league baseball around I might take in a game or two involving the Cubs and White Sox. Plus perhaps some MLS and a pre-season NFL game or two. And perhaps the odd bit of going to a museum or two so I can pretend to be cultured. And, failing that, I might do something that my son has a vague interest in.
Anyway, my rough plan is as follows:
1) 31st July to 6th August. Debase myself by staying in Chicago
3) 10th - 15th August. Back to Chicago and catch at least one of the Crew's game at Miller Park South (perhaps Monday 11th)
Anyway, cutting a long and fairly boring story short, if anyone wants to meet up around these games (or at any other time) give me a shout. Or if anyone has any general thoughts or advice.
PS I'm presuming that, as in Scotland, heavy drinking is part of the national curriculum and hence not only that my 10 year-old son will be allowed to accompany me into any pubs or bars but that he will be rightfully allowed a minimum of two free alcoholic beverages...
