By bold move, I'm talking David Price. Actually, I would like to see David Price and Ben Zorbist. Yes to get those two would take a lot plus a commitment from Mark Attanasio. The Brewers would be taking on $21 million in prorated salaries, $14 million for Price and $7 million for Zorbist. Price has one more year of arbitration and Zorbist has a 1/2 million buyout next season. Those are the proposed incoming financials.
Now what would it take? I don't think there is anyway the deal would not include P Jimmy Nelson and C Martin Maldonado. Could a Rickie Weeks or Marco Estrada be included to offset some of the salary intake? I would also believe two other young players such as Khris Davis, Tyrone Taylor, Taylor Jungmann, Mitch Haniger, Jorge Lopez,... would be required. Is that too much for the Brewers organization to give up for a World Series run? Is that even enough to get Price?
Do the Brewers need to make a move like this? A month to go before the trade deadline. If the Brewers are still in first place, it's my opinion the Crew needs to solidify for the playoffs.
