With the past draft and the news that we have in fact signed the #4 international amateur Gilbert Lara See link
We have a pretty decent pool of prospects similar to what we had (at least talent and potential wise) back in the 2004-2006 years. I see a top 10 that includes both a few establishing prospects (ie Nelson) and several newly signed but high upside players (Lara, Medeiros). To start a conversation, here are 10 players who will make up the next top 10-20 prospect lists.
There are clearly other like Cameron Garfield, Taylor Jungmann, Yadiel Rivera, Tyler Wagner, Tucker Neuhaus, Victor Roache who are all highly regarded, and have good potential. And then there are the Dominican, Venezuelan players who are filtering through the DSL into the lower leagues. Does anyone know the Latin players in Wisconsin, Helena or Arizona well enough to provide insight into those who are legitimate top prospects. I know Franly Mallen and Nicolas Pierre were top signings last year, but don't know what their potential would be. And there are others who were less heralded, but may be playing themselves into prospects. Any input would be appreciated.
Either way, it is nice to finally see a decent prospect list at the same time we have a good team on the field. It usually has been one or the other.
