The offense what to do if anything

With the trade deadline looming. Most "rumors" are showing the Brewers looking for a pitcher. I am not so sure a starter is needed. I definately don't think I big named starter is needed either. Shore up the middle relief and set up if anything. LaTroy Hawkins or one of the relievers from the Astros could help.

What to do about the offense, if anything. The Brewers historically have always been a home run power team. Play fo the long ball and this season the offense looks the same way. The offense is either hot or ice cold. A solid on base guy would be nice but where do you put him? Davis I guess would be the choice now. But he's young and could hit for average. His defense apparently is suspect but he would appear to be the odd guy out. But there are not many LF that are big on base guys who hit for average. Most would be what the Brewers already have, a power hitter. First base could also be a possibility but not sure there is anything better than what we currently have with the platoon or Reynolds and Overbay. Obviously neither are a long term solution. But with free agency on the horizon for Aramis Ramirez he isn't long term either.

I'm wondering if the Brewers add a bat is it first base. Then let Overbay go and keep Reynolds since he can play some third. Reynolds defense has impressed me. I had read he was a below average fielder but what I've seen has been pretty good. So if a deal for a bat is made this year how would that fit for next year? Or do they go for a rental bat with Reynolds moving to third when Ramirez goes free agent.

Adding a pitcher seems to be the only likely scenario???
