Could this be Braun's last year as a Brewer?

On the Journal Sentinel website today is a story about the play of Ryan Braun this year, and how the Brewers may have concern about the longterm investment they have in him. And that gets me thinking - why did they really trade for Parra?

While unthinkable really, does a good half season from Parra make Braun expendable? And what could they get in return, really? Probably not enough, right?

Yet, I envision something going down at the winter meetings, something where the Brewers make a deal with the Yankees, trading Braun for a stash of prospects. Really, a Braun trade only makes sense with the Yankees, as they relish the bad guy/redemption role at times. Plus Braun could fill a void left with the retirement of Jeter at the end of this year.

Of course, Braun in pinstripes may also open the Yankees to legal issues, given the case with A-Rod, but still, can anyone out there imagine Braun being gone after this year? And if it were to happen, what would be your reaction? Is it time to make Lucroy and Gomez the real faces of the franchise?
