They're kidding, right?
This DVD thing has to be the biggest rip-off I've seen in a while (and I witnessed increased prices for Cubs games last year).  $24.95 for a 60-minute DVD about the 1982 team?  That seems a little steep.  It's outrageous, though, when you consider that it's $24.95 after advertising money is thrown in to subsidize it: The video is sponsored in part by the Wisconsin Lottery, American Family Insurance and Sentry Foods.

If that's a harbinger of celebrations of the 1982 team to come, then I don't know if I can afford to relive the glory days.

Sweet merciful crap
Looks like we would be well-served to assume Koskie will not be available this year.  After reading that article, I don't know how any reasonable person can say that Koskie will play this year.  He's hiding from press inquiries, and Brewers officials are either dodging the questions or honestly don't know his status.

On the other hand, I saw someone in a Brewers forum proclaim that Koskie is going to have a breakout year in 2007 -- .280 AVG, 21 HR, 80-90 RBI*.  So we've got that going for us, which is nice.

*vs. CHONE projections of .238, 14 HR, 42 RBI, if you're into such things.

.238!?!
Wow.

So then...is Tony G our starting third baseman? Is Billy? That's weird. You'd think Doug would at least be talking about a backup plan.

Depends on who you talk to
Melvin 12.8:

Terrence_Neumann: What does the depth chart look like behind Corey Koskie? If Koskie goes down for an extended period of time, would Ryan Braun get a shot?

Melvin: Graffanino and Counsell could platoon if Koskie was unable to play. But we will also take a long look at Ryan Braun in Spring Training.

Or Melvin 11.29:

But Melvin revealed on Wednesday that should Koskie have any major setbacks, the team would hand the third-base job to top prospect Ryan Braun.

Wow
thanks for digging those up.

That's really surprising, given that Braun has played all of two months in AA.

Nonsense
As we learned with JJ Hardly, AAA is overrated.  I just hope that Ryan can contribute as much right out of the gate as JJ has.
"C'mon, boys, let's get 'em some RUNS!" --- Daron Sutton, pretty much every game of the 2005 season.

Yup, I saw that.
I too saw the guy who predicted a breakout season for Koskie. I completely disagreed with him of course. I'm not that big on Koskie.

Admission
At least Hall kind of knows where he's going to play.

Remember who said it first.  Or at least near first ... and without the comment spam.

Nate - I'm so rad!
