Brewers have just confirmed: Zack Greinke will start today against the Houston Astros.
Looking for controversy with link titles like "What might have been for Matt Kemp" and "Matt Kemp: I should have won MVP" Yahoo Sports is trying to be as asinine as possible and trying to lure Kemp into badmouthing Braun. If a website had nuts, Yahoo's should be Hyatted. To his credit, Kemp played it fairly cool.
I'll be making my weekly appearance on The Watercooler with Jimmie Kaska on Sports Radio 1400 In Eau Claire around 5:20 today. Listen in live or look for the archived audio tomorrow!
Chipper Jones has been named to replace injured Matt Kemp on NL all-star team. That means #Brewers Ryan Braun will start in OF by rule.

Various outlets are reporting that Chipper Jones will replace Matt Kemp on the NL All Star roster. That means Braun, as the top remaining vote-getter on the player ballot, will take his place in the starting lineup.
The carry-in policy is buried in here, but here it is as well. "Fans may not bring into Miller Park any cans, glass containers or alcohol. Soda, water or juice must be contained in factory-sealed plastic bottles. Guests may bring food items into Miller Park using appropriate containers. All bags, purses, fanny packs or soft-sided coolers must be 16" x 16" x 8" or smaller and are subject to inspection. Hard-sided coolers are not allowed in the ballpark. Only food purchased within Miller Park will be allowed into Suite areas." The most important thing here: You can bring your own food and drinks into the game. If prices at Miller Park are too high for you, stop at a gas station before the game and pick up some cold bottles of water or a hydrating sports drink to bring with you. I just want to make sure everyone is aware of the Miller Park carry-in policy. With the hot days of summer here and the Brewers playing three-straight day games in 90+ degree weather that could feel like it's over 100, remember what you can and can't bring in.
With the Brewer day game tomorrow we're moving my weekly appearance on The Sports Den with Downtown Ollie Burrows to tonight. Follow the link above to listen in live!
I wonder how often the pitcher leading the league in WAR has not been named to the All-Star roster? The Brewers have one representative and I can't imagine how awful it would be for a hitter to have to face Greinke if he was only pitching one inning. If this isn't retribution for the Brewers-Cardinals rivalry, I don't know what is.
Brandon Kintzler was DFA'd to clear a 40-man spot so #Brewers could claim SS Hector Gomez off waivers. He was optioned to the @bcmanatees.
— The Brewer Nation (@BrewerNation) June 28, 2012
Gomez has been in the Rockies organization his whole career, where he had a .268/.306/.425 line in seven minor league seasons. He has never played at Triple-A and had a very brief major league call up last season. Gomez was Baseball-America's #95 prospect prior to 2008, but the 24-year-old has played in just three games this season. He has been optioned to Brevard County.
He is still sore, so I doubt he is going right back in at the end of his 15 days on the DL.
I'll be on the pregame roundtable around 12:05 today with Chuck Freimund and Howie Magner of Milwaukee Magazine. Listen in live to see which of us makes a haiku first.
