Red Sox offered Bowden for Hardy?

According to this article, the Red Sox offered Michael Bowden for JJ, but Melvin wanted at least Daniel Bard or Clay Buchholz.

Certainly won't make the Gomez-haters happy if true. In the end, Melvin is going to look like either a really good judge of talent in taking Gomez (while asking for Buchholz?!), or really out of touch...

In this interview, I really got the feeling that Lucroy and Rivera will be the catchers next season. That would leave all of the money to be spent on Counsell, 1 bench spot, and Free Agent Starting Pitchers.

Apparently the Brewers tried to pass Bourgeois (a Houston native) through waivers to outright him back to the minors, and he got claimed.

Meanwhile, Mike Burns gets little more than an extreme outside shot at making the rotation next spring, and Adam Stern, who spent most of 2009 in AA and will be 30 before spring training, remains on board as roster filler in an organization that needs warm bodies to play center field.

A lefty, coached by Rick Peterson and Macha in Oakland. Makes sense, right? I just can't talk myself into a 60% Cardinal cast-off rotation.

Cubs hire Rudy Jaramillo as hitting coach

Cubs hire Rudy Jaramillo as hitting coach

I apologize if this has been posted or mentioned elsewhere but Rudy Jaramillo was named the hitting coach for the Cubs.
He's been very well praised for his time with Texas and I'm saddened to see him go to a divisional rival.
