Brewers lose to Padres, 8-6. That pushes the Brewers under .500 for the spring, though I'm not about to get worried about that.
Lots of offensive highlights: Brady Clark singled and doubled in five ABs; Cirillo (playing second again) homered, Billy Hall went 2-for-3, Nelson Cruz went 2-for-2, Mark Johnson started at catcher and walked twice in three plate appearances, and Vinny Rottino, pinch-hitting and playing third, doubled.
On the mound, not so hot. Zach Jackson gave up six runs and unleashed two wild pitches in the third inning. Kershner and Kane Davis did nicely in relief, and Jose Capellan struggled.
Tomorrow, Ben Hendrickson will take on Freddy Garcia and the White Sox, and it's available on MLB.TV at 2:05 CT. I'll be watching.
At the moment, Cuba is leading DR 3-1 in the bottom of the ninth, Moises Alou just singled to lead off the inning and Wily Mo Pena is at the plate. Remember--Japan/Korea at 9:00 CT. WATCH IT!
