Days of Yore

Personally, I'm rather frustrated with our current team, or at least parts of it, so I'm going to try to spend the off-day not replaying the last couple losses in my head; instead, I'm going to reach back a little farther, before I was even born, for something to smile about.  It's even rather relevant.

BREWERS 7TH: MELTON STAYED IN GAME (PLAYING 1B); HUMPHREY
REPLACED STANTON (PLAYING C ); Johnson singled to center;
Johnson stole second [Johnson to third (error by Humphrey)];
Joshua made an out to right; Money hit a sacrifice fly to left
[Johnson scored]; Scott homered; Aaron homered; Porter walked;
Lezcano walked [Porter to second]; SCOTT REPLACED DRAGO
(PITCHING); SUTHERLAND BATTED FOR HEGAN; Sutherland grounded out
(third to first); 3 R, 3 H, 1 E, 2 LOB.  Angels 1, Brewers 5.
July the Twentieth, Nineteen Hundred & Seventy-Six, as Robert Shaw would say, Hank Aaron hit his last major league home run. Thirty years ago today.  A bonus, something I didn't know, it was back-to-back with George Scott, which, of course, rules. The Brewers even won the game, defeating the California Angels (of Anaheim) 6-2.

I can't tell you how badly I want, thirty years from now, to look back and say something amazing like that happened while I was watching and caring.  Something even more amazing, because it marked the beginning of something fantastic, rather than the end.  Something like this game.  I hope, I hope, I hope.
