A New Weapon: Brewers' Jeffress adds two-seamer

"Jeffress is challenging himself to evolve from thrower to full-fledged pitcher, with plans to scrap at times the ole No. 1 and instead dust off a two-seamer that he employed occasionally last season. 'I'm probably going to work on that as my out-pitch this year,' Jeffress was saying in spring training. 'I started throwing it last year at Brevard County and then at Huntsville. I think it's pretty good. If you throw it right, it has a tendency to run. I'm just going to let it do its own thing.'"

BCB Interview: Don Money (Part Two)

Here is the second part of my interview with Huntsville manager Don Money (You can read the first part here). BCB: Up until this year Alcides Escobar has been considered a defense-first shortstop,...

The pitch before I started rolling Salome complained that he wanted some pitches inside and here is the result. Enjoy.

Chris Errecart has broken hand, will miss 4-6 weeks

Michael Brantley will also be out awhile longer.

Friday's Crystal Callix

Did the Brewers have a game yesterday? Hmm, must not have noticed. The biggest news this morning, courtesy of Ken Rosenthal, is that Matt LaPorta is officially on the trading block, and that...

Gamel, LaPorta, and Escobar make BA's midseason prospect All-Star team

Three out of eight is a good percentage. As BA says in LaPorta's comment: "With LaPorta, Gamel and Escobar, the Brewers have the type of position-player prospect depth to rival any organization."
