From a Twins fan
Just wondering what a brewers fan would want for JJ Hardy. There has been a good amount fo talk about targeting him from a fan perpective. Deals from our end have ranged from Perkins and a lower level guy to people saying we don't have the guys to get him.
I always feel like fans think guys will get you more and cost you less to get then they do so it would be nice to have a prepective from the other side.
Thanks Ted.

McCann v. Mauer Revisted.
This diary Caused quite a bit of stir last year I'd like to Revist it a year later.
Mauer put up this line
.293/.382/.426/.808 in 406 at bats. With a 57/51 BB/K ratio his ISO power went form .160 to .133 with only 7 HRs this year he was injured a lot and supposedly played with a Hernia for at least part of the year but it's still not a great sign that he power went down when it should be going up.
McCann put up this line in 504 at bats
.270/.320/.452/.772 with 18 hrs and 38 2bs for a ISO power of .182 down from .239 last year but he to battled through injuries during the year but still managed to get 100 more at bats than Mauer.
McCann's BB/K ratio also suffered this year going from 41/54 to 35/74.
Both players regressed a bit and the high expectations that we put on them after last year have probably been tempered some to say the least. What is the future for these 2 catchers are they still going to be the 2 best catchers in baseball long term or have they all ready been passed by Russell Martin?

LEN's Lastest scared me a bit.
http://www.startribune.com/509/story/843659.html Lots of stuff the most serious Jason Kubel had surgery on his other Knee to repair some damage I guess playing Winter ball would have been a bad idea.
It also sounds like LEN was hinted something that TR might be willing to go with a Santana Bonser Garza Baker Sliva rotoation which wouldn't be such a bad thing in my mind.

Bill Hall Available?
http://www.hardballtimes.com/main/article/whither-bill-hall/
That hardball times article basically details how Bill Hall has been pushed out of every Role on the Brewers Except for CF which their Gm doesn't see him as.
This is probably the 5th or 6th diary about the twins trading for him or that has ended up talking about how we should trade for him. By this point we all know him He hits for great power can play all over in the infield and is a very good 5 or 6 hitter and could hit 3 or 4 for a bad team. He would most likely play 3B for us and provide some much needed pop.
This is a move I would try and make he's not going to come cheap in terms of Prospects but I would offer Brian Duensing and Zach Ward for starters and then move it up to a offer of Anthony Swarzak and Sosa and see if that gets it done.
Although that may not even be what the Brewers want right now. They seem pretty set right now.

WWYD: J.D. "The Real Deal" Durbin
As has been discussed here a couple of times Durbin is out of options this year and cannot return to AAA for another season. JD is a power arm that was once a top prospect that has fallen off considerably much like Boof Bonser had with the Giants.
The Twins will have quite a Decision to make this spring on what to do with him. He posted a 2.33 era this year although the walks that have plagued JD during his whole career were still there as he walked 50 in 89 innings. JD seemed to in line for a call up with all the ineffectiveness and injuries in the Twins rotation but he suffered an injury of his own and was out for the season. So now lies the question what would you do with JD Durbin?
My course of action would be to stick him in the number 5 spot in the rotation and see if he can get major league hitters out give him about 8-9 starts and see if he gets it done. This provides time to see how Slowey and Perkins are progressing and depending on what happens with Sliva, Baker could also get some extra time to build confidence in AAA and learn how to pitch.
