Welcome back Luis

...to the National League, that is.

Former Brewers set-up man/disaster Luis Vizcaino was part of the trade today that sent Javier Vazquez to the White Sox and Orlando Hernandez and outfield prospect Chris Young to the Diamondbacks.

He was overshadowed by some of the other bullpen guys with the ChiSox, especially in the postseason, but he had one of the best years of his career, racking up an ERA of 3.73 in 70 IP in a hitter's park for an OPS+ of 119.  However, I don't know if he can expect to maintain that level: his strikeout rate was below 6/9 innings last year, while in 2001 and 2002, he racked up nearly one per inning.  Strikeout rate is usually a good indicator of a pitcher's future fortunes, especially for a hard-throwing reliever like Vizzy.

Best of luck to Luis...except when he's playing the Crew.
