Brooks is now an active player on the roster of the AA Corpus Christi Hooks, and saw action in Tuesday night's game, the first win in the history of the new Corpus Christi franchise. Coincidence? I think not:
Kieschnick, the Corpus Christi native who was activated in time for Tuesday's game, relieved Nieve to begin the seventh. He retired the first two batters on ground ball outs to second, then walked Senreiso before giving up a single to Jeremy Cleveland. Kieschnick got Seth Taylor to pop out to Norris at first in foul ground for the final out of the inning.
Kieschnick's activation was made possible when the Astros placed pitcher Scott MacRae on the disabled list. MacRae and catcher Danny Fatheree are both on the road trip with the club despite their designations.
Not a pretty WHIP, I suppose, but the ERA sits comfortably at 0.00. Which, I might add, is quite a bit lower than Tommy Phelps's... (Just an observation.)
