The showdown nears, as every Brewer fan's favorite non-Brewer is promoted to AAA Round Rock:
Corpus Christi native Brooks Kieschnick is on his way to AAA. The Hooks' reliever received word late this afternoon that he is to report to AAA Round Rock. The Express are home tonight, wrapping up a series with New Orleans. Like the Hooks, the Express will be off tomorrow, and Thursday will host the Oklahoma RedHawks at the Dell Diamond.
Kieschnick had appeared in five games in relief for the Hooks, posting a record of 0-0 with a 1.08 ERA. He started last night's game as the designated hitter, going 1-for-2 with a walk, a sacrifice fly, one run and one RBI. Kieschnick also delivered a key pinch-hit RBI single in Corpus Christi's come-from-behind win at Frisco on April 16th.
