The Brewers are now 7 games below .500 and are looking to avoid a sweep as Chris Capuano (7-6, 3.22 ERA) takes the mound vs Chicago and Greg Maddux (7-4, 4.56 ERA). Maddux currently ranks 20th on MLB's all-time wins list. This game WILL be shown on WGN TV and has a 1:20 start time. The Brewers are now in 4th place in the NL Central, a half game behind Houston and a half game ahead of Pittsburgh. The Brewers' pitching in this series has been stellar, but they need their bats to come alive. This has been the "broken record saying" throughout much of the season. While its frustrating to see in present, I believe it does bode well for the future as it will be inevitable that the Brewers will hit better in 2006 and beyond (and hopefully the 2nd half of THIS season) as their young hitters gain more valuable experience.
