Open Thread, Game 92, Washington (53-38) at Milwaukee (44-47)

One more game vs the Ex-Expos and then its on to St Louis...

Today it is Drese (7-7, 5.36) vs Tomo Ohka (5-4, 3.62).  You just KNOW that Ohka is going to want to pitch his best against the team that traded him away.  These sorts of situations tend to work themselves out in one of two ways: either Ohka will give up 5-6 runs in 3 innings and get yanked or he'll throw a 4-5 hit game giving up maybe a run or two.  When the adrenalin is flowing extra there's no telling how an individual is going to react...

I still think Ohka is a candidate for a trade coming up, he's a fly ball pitcher and while that worked (fairly) well in the spacious confines of our nation's capital, it doesn't work as well in Miller Park.  That said he's still been an upgrade at the #5 starter spot...

It was nice to see Dana Eveland pitching last night.  Sure he gave up that triple, but he looks like he has good stuff. Thats a big jump from the AA All-Star game to the Show, and he looked good in his debut, striking out 2 in 1.2 innings pitched.  I have nothing personal against Tommy Phelps, never met the guy, but I always cringed whenever Yost brought him in, and it was probably long overdue that Phelps left Milwaukee.

It'll be interesting to see whether Eveland ends up a starter or a relief guy.  I just hope they don't rush him along too fast...
