A couple of notable baby Brewers

Checking up on my Baseball America Daily Dish, I found the following:

Also quietly having an impressive year in the Florida State League is Brewers righty Carlos Villanueva. The 21-year-old Dominican struck out 10 over seven innings Friday night, allowing just one run on four hits in high Class A Brevard County's 2-1 win over Daytona, upping his record to 6-1, 2.00 in 17 starts for the Manatees, with 109 strikeouts in 94 innings.

And...

The Rookie-level Orem franchise played its first Sunday home game in five years yesterday and fans watched a memorable affair as the Owlz outlasted Helena 5-4 on Dallas Morris' 13th-inning home run. After playing on the campus of Brigham Young the past four years, where Sunday games are prohibited, Orem moved into its own park this season and was scheduled to play three additional Sunday home games. Helena shortstop Ryan Crew, Milwaukee's 40th-round pick out of Texas-San Antonio this year, went 5-for-7 and is batting .388 (26-for-67) with eight doubles and 12 RBIs. Helena stranded 17 runners in the loss.

May all 40th-round draft picks have great success.  It's hard not to root for guys like Brady Clark (undrafted) and Marcus Giles (53rd round--I didn't even know there were 53 rounds).
