Weekend Recap

We lost Ben Sheets for the year, but not before he pitched us to our one win of three against the Atlanta Braves.

Friday: W 3-1 (Sheets W, Ramirez L, Turnbow S)
Saturday: L 4-8 (Smoltz W, Santos L)
Sunday: L 2-5 (Hudson W, Capuano L)

Some notes: Lehr was sent down on Friday to make room for Brady Clark, and then recalled when Ben Sheets was placed on the 15 day DL. Lehr pitched 2 perfect innings on Sunday. Brady Clark, over the weekend, went 3-12 with a homerun, two singles, and a stolen base. Corey Hart spelled Jenkins today in right. Hall started at short today with Branyan returning to third. Hardy, riding a 5 game hitting streak, sat out to make room on the left side of the diamond. In the series the brewers scored 9 runs on 17 hits and allowed 14 runs on 29 hits.

On a positive note the Cubs dropped 2 of 3 to the Fish, so the Brewers maintain their 1.5 game lead on the Yankees of the Midwest.
