I don't have time to write much about this, but I thought it would be an interesting topic for discussion.
As I mentioned in the game recap for yesterday's game, the Crew will have several days off in late August and September. As long as Davis, Cappy, and Sheets are all healthy and strong, there's a strong possibility Yost will skip the 5th starter a few times. But who's the fifth starter?
Presumably, that guy is Ohka, but Santos has made a heck of a case for being the 5th starter himself. Neither guy fits very well into a bullpen role--they would be long men if they fit into a role at all.
So, when it comes time to skip a guy, who gets skipped? Santos? Ohka? Both? Do you give Lehr a shot in the 4th/5th spot? Maybe give Helling a try in the rotation if Santos continues to struggle?
I'm curious what y'all think about this.
