SBN Rookie of the Year: Hanley Ramirez

As I mentioned about a month ago when I submitted my ballot, the blog network BCB is a part of ran their own awards voting this year.  Today I'm proud to announce the winner: Hanley Ramirez.  Here are the complete voting results for the National League:

If you're curious to see the ballots that Battlekow and I submitted, you can read about them here.  I'm guessing that Anibal Sanchez and Josh Johnson were hurt by the fact that the Marlins had so much great rookie pitching.  If one of them had been clearly the best rookie pitcher in the league, I think they would've gotten more votes.

I was very surprised to see Prince Fielder do as well as he did.  I voted for him in third place, but as I said back then, it was a blatant homer vote.  To see that two ballots had him second makes me wonder what those people were thinking, or if those voters just hated the Marlins, who had all the bona fide ROY contenders.

Big thanks to Martin Gandy of Talking Chop for organizing  the SBN awards and doing all the work.  If you'd like to see the AL results, click on "read more."
