Somehow I knew this was coming, but Robin Yount will not be back next season.
Bench coach Robin Yount today informed the Milwaukee Brewers that he will not return to the team for the 2007 season.
"This was a very difficult decision for me," said Yount. "I have such a passion for the job and I did not want to shortchange the club by not being able to fully commit to the position. The decision came down to devoting more time to my family."
Of course, the family time line is probably not the true reason, but as my boyhood hero, it's a shame Robin didn't see enough success in the short term to make the decision to stay.
