Kieschnick Retires

It's a sad day here at Brew Crew Ball HQ, as Brooks Kieschnick has decided to hang 'em up.  Someone (I can't remember who--sorry, anonymous blogger) made the point that Baltimore would've been a good spot for him.  They could use him in the 'pen, and the logjam of right-handed over-the-hill players (Millar, Conine) at 1B/LF/DH would've made him a useful guy to have on the bench.

But no.  And to think, less than five minutes before getting this newsflash in my inbox, I signed up in a fantasy league with my team, the "Kieschnick All-Stars."  May Brooks's legacy of great potential, a great attitude, and versatile mediocrity live on.
