Kirby Puckett, RIP

Kirby Puckett died today.

A few years ago, some baseball star--I think it was Andre Dawson--was asked what he thought about his chances for Hall of Fame election.  This player recognized that he wasn't a slam dunk choice, but rightfully believed that he'd make it in eventually.  He complained, though, about the silliness of the Hall of Fame withholding the honor.  Either a guy is worthy of enshrinement, or he isn't.  If he is, let him enjoy it.

Kirby, I'm sure most would agree, was eminently worthy.  His untimely death, to me, puts an exclamation point on that player's argument.
