It's Doug Davis vs. Brandon Duckworth. Davis is coming off one of his best starts of the year: he allowed only four baserunners and struck out nine in seven shutout innings. Of course, the Brewers lost to the Tigers that day.
Duckworth is the newest Royal starter, and because he's only allowed 2 runs in each of his two KC starts, he's now the frontrunner to go to Pittsburgh as KC's representative in the All-Star game.
For those of you who care about little things like the pennant race, Milwaukee's win last night moved them up to within six games of the Cardinals, and Cincinnati's loss this afternoon means that we're 2 1/2 back of the Wild Card leaders. In fact, the Crew is now third in the WC race, just behind the Dodgers and just ahead of a slew of other teams.
Go Brewers!
