Tonight, for the eleventy-billionth time, the Brewers try to edge above .500. Please! Splitting the series takes us to the All-Star Break at even, taking 3 of 4 would put us two over, and I'm not even going to think about a four-game sweep.
Then again, it is the Cubs, and the Crew is 28-17 at home. And we have Mike Rivera!
Better-soon-be-an-All-Star-somehow-or-other Chris Capuano goes against if-Carlos-Zambrano-weren't-a-Cub-he'd-probably-be-an-All-Star-just-because-SOMEBODY-would-have-to-represent-them Greg Maddux.
For some reason, Jeff Cirillo is starting at third and batting second; Gabe Gross is starting in center and batting eighth. Apart from that, it's the usual--and for the first time in a while, I don't dread each of Geoff Jenkins's four or five plate appearances. How 'bout a nice 5-HR, 17-RBI series, Geoff? C'mon, do it for your namesake!
