You may recall that, a couple of weeks ago, battlekow pointed out Dave Stewart's ranking of MLB starting rotations. It was pretty weak, and I hadn't been back to that site since.
Now I get this garbage in my inbox:
I noticed you haven't signed up for the MLB Battle of the Blogs. Please do so soon so you can get in on the action. You can sign-up through this link: [blah blah]
Your not scared are ya?
Dave "Smoke" Stewart
Yes Dave, I'm terrified. I'm so flattered that Dave Stewart's intern would take time to write to me to promote yet another internet baseball site that contributes next to nothing...except, they have a bona fide ex-Major League pitcher!!!
Needless to say, I'm not participating in this nonsense: running a site for a couple of years has exposed me to just about every stupid ploy to gain traffic for a new site, and this one isn't even very creative. That's why I'm mocking Dave Stewart but I'm not even posting a link. I'm saving you all that part of your day that would otherwise be wasted.
Instead, go read about the Nationals starting rotation in my column today at the Hardball Times. Not to get a Mench-sized head or anything, but there's more analysis in that one article than "Smoke" has offered in all of his pieces combined thus far.
