Manny Parra may be about to be promoted, pending some details of Chris Spurling's personal life.
baseballdan1092 had the scoop, and mlb.com has the story:
Highly touted left-hander Manny Parra traveled to Milwaukee on Sunday night and was poised to join the Brewers for the start of a four-game series against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
But the team was still in a holding pattern on Monday morning, general manager Doug Melvin said. Right-handed reliever Chris Spurling left the team Sunday to tend to a family emergency and could return for the start of Monday's game. Meanwhile, right-hander Ben Sheets was scheduled to undergo an MRI scan to determine the severity of his sprained middle finger.
With Triple-A Nashville traveling to New Orleans early Monday morning, the Brewers opted to have Parra instead travel to Milwaukee.
