Game Thread #147: Brewers (83-63) at Phillies (79-67)

Here's a tidbit that might give you pause: Jamie Moyer is 13-7 with a 3.64 ERA. Yes, that's the same 45-year-old Jamie Moyer with a 76 mph fastball. He is outperforming his FIP of 4.31, but still, that just isn't right. I'll leave the research to somebody else, but for all the mockery that generally accompanies a Pedro Feliz signing, Feliz is one of the best defenders at third base, and he's sure as hell better than a certain bench player who got a lot of starts there last year.

For the good guys, it's Ben Sheets. Much as Moyer makes me nervous, Big Ben ought to make the Phils, um, nervouser.

Game time is 6:05 CT, and here's the BR Game Preview. Be sure to check out how the Brewers have dominated Les Walrond.

Go Brewers!

Update: Gabe Kapler has a torn muscle in his back and won't be able to play the field for the rest of the year, though he may be able to pinch hit after some treatment. With Laynce Nix getting DFA, the Brewers are now down two outfielders, making Tony Gwynn the primary sub, which sucks about as hard as the mini-black holes the LHC supposedly can't create.
