In Arizona: The AFL was off yesterday.
In Venezuela:
- Adam Heether went 0-for-2 with a walk and scored a run in Caracas' 10-4 win over Aragua. Heether is now hitting .273/.415/.515 in his first 33 VWL ABs.
- Juan Sanchez started in center field for Aragua in the game, and went 0-for-4. He's now 1-for-6 in VWL play.
- Hernan Iribarren went 3-for-4 with a double and a walk, scored a run and drove one in, but Lara still lost 11-5 to Magallanes. Hernan is off to a rough start: His big day raised his VWL line to .265/.324/.412.
- Brendan Katin went 0-for-2 with a strikeout in Zulia's 5-0 loss to Margarita. Katin is 1-for his last 11 with six strikeouts, and is hitting .187/.292/.222 overall.
In the Dominican Republic: Just like last year, stats seem to be a day behind getting out of the DR, so all lines below are from Saturday, unless otherwise listed:
- Erick Almonte reached base three times, going 1-for-1 with a walk and an HBP in Cibao's 8-0 loss to Este.
- Sam Narron made his DWL debut in the game, allowing a walk but nothing else in .2 innings.
- Rafael Lluberes also pitched in the game, retiring the only batter he faced.
- Juan Sandoval retired the only batter he faced to close out the game and pick up his first save in Oriente's 7-3 win over Escogito.
