Tonight, the Brewers will attempt to salvage just their second win in this six-game homestand against the Cubs and Reds before heading out to the east coast for back to back series with the Mets and Phillies.

Micah Owings will make his first start of 2009 for the Reds: he's gone 14-17 with a 4.97 ERA over the last two seasons with the Diamondbacks before being part of the deal that sent Adam Dunn to Arizona. He's better known for being a .322/.357/.559 career hitter. Ryan Braun has only faced Owings five times in his career, but has a single, walk and home run. All told, current Brewers have hit .368/.405/.684 off Owings in his career.

For the Brewers, Braden Looper will make his second start. He scattered five hits and four walks while allowing just one run in five innings against the Cubs on Friday. Looper has been a fast starter over the course of his career, posting a 2.73 ERA in March/April, and nothing lower than 3.57 in any other month. Joey Votto has had more success against Looper than any other Red, batting .222/.417/.667 against Looper in 12 plate appearances, with his two hits being a double and a home run.

Today is also the anniversary of Jackie Robinson's major league debut, and all players on both teams will wear #42 tonight to commemorate the occasion. Ryan Braun and Bill Hall will also be wearing the special cleats pictured above.
