You've made it through the week, Brewers fans. Settle in with a beverage tonight and enjoy the game.
Tonight at 6:10 at Citi Field, it's the Mets hosting the Brewers, with both teams finding themselves lower in the standings than they expected to be at this point.
Livan Hernandez gets the ball tonight for the Mets. He's won at least ten games in each of the last nine seasons, but hasn't posted an ERA under 4.80 since 2005. He has, however, pitched well against the Brewers in his career, posting a 3.77 ERA in 136 innings (19 starts). J.J. Hardy has faced Hernandez eight times in his career and reached base in six of them, adding a double for a .667/.750/.833 line.
For the Brewers, Dave Bush will finish off the second run through the rotation. He picked up a no-decision on Saturday, allowing five runs in 7.1 innings. Bush has not been a good pitcher on the road in his career, posting a 5.21 ERA away from home. He's beaten the Mets twice in three career appearances against them, posting a 6.75 ERA. Four Mets have faced Bush at least five times and have an OPS over 1.000: Carlos Delgado, Brian Schneider, Ryan Church and Jose Reyes.
Friday night's Game Thread is now open.
