First, a scheduling note: Yesterday's rain out has been rescheduled for Monday night. Set your calendars accordingly.
In the meantime the Brewers, who lost a Yovani Gallardo start, will send Jeff Suppan to the mound today against Adam Wainwright. Wainwright is 3-1 with a 4.35 ERA in seven 2009 starts. His control is a little suspect: his 21 walks allowed are the ninth most in the NL. Ryan Braun is 5-for-17 against him in his career, with two of those five hits being home runs.
Jeff Suppan, meanwhile, is 2-3 with a 5.50 ERA in 2009. Since starting the season with two terrible starts, Suppan has been much better, posting a 3.60 ERA over 30 innings in his last five starts. In his career, Suppan has been better against the Cardinals than any other team, going 6-2 with a 3.18 ERA in 11 starts.
