The Brewers continue their interleague road trip in Detroit, assuming the weather cooperates. The last time they visited Michigan, they participated in an eventful series-- after being no-hit by Justin Verlander, they won a season-turning game on a Bill Hall homer. Hopefully things are a bit less tumultuous this time around.
Armando Galarraga has not been particularly effective so far this year. He has a 5.66 ERA, 5.92 FIP, and has walked more and struck out fewer batters than in his effective season a year ago. His slider, which was very effective a year ago, has not been as strong this season. He is throwing harder this year, with an average velocity around 91 mph.
Lineup:
2B Craig Counsell
DH Casey McGehee
LF Ryan Braun
1B Prince Fielder
RF Corey Hart
CF Mike Cameron
SS J.J. Hardy
3B Mat Gamel
C Jason Kendall
After the off day we'll reset the bullpen rest situation. I'll only list the pitchers who threw on Wednesday:
- Seth McClung pitched 2 1/3 innings (48 pitches)
- Trevor Hoffman pitched 2/3 of an inning (12 pitches)
- Mark DiFelice pitched 1 1/3 innings (16 pitches)
- Mitch Stetter pitched 2/3 of an inning (20 pitches)
Gametime is scheduled for 6:05, but we'll follow the weather. Go Brewers!
