Game Thread #52: Brewers (30-21) at Marlins (24-28)

Well, it can't get a lot worse than last night.

The Brewers will send Manny Parra to the mound to try to win game two of this four-game set in Miami. He's 3-6 with a 5.57 ERA in 2009, and has posted a 9.90 ERA and allowed 23 baserunners in his last two starts, both losses. With that said, he beat the Marlins on May 12, and he's never lost in June, going 5-0 with a 2.59 ERA.

For the Marlins, Anibal Sanchez will make his first start since being placed on the DL with a right shoulder sprain on May 8. He's 1-4 with a 5.79 ERA in 2009, and allowed six home runs in his last four starts. He's 2-0 in his career against the Brewers, posting a 2.84 ERA.

Mike Cameron and Corey Hart are getting a day off today, and the Brewers will have six lefties in the lineup, including Parra:

Craig Counsell 2B
Frank Catalanotto RF
Ryan Braun LF
Prince Fielder 1B
J.J. Hardy SS
Mat Gamel 3B
Jody Gerut CF
Jason Kendall C
Manny Parra LHP

As of this writing (about 4:15), Burns had not yet arrived in Miami, but assuming he does, he might be the freshest arm in the Brewer bullpen:

Mark DiFelice has not pitched since Sunday but is unavailable with a sore elbow. He hopes to resume throwing Wednesday.
Carlos Villanueva (1 inning yesterday) has pitched in two straight games.
Seth McClung pitched an inning yesterday.
Todd Coffey pitched an inning yesterday.
Trevor Hoffman has not pitched since Sunday.
Mitch Stetter has not pitched since Sunday.
Mike Burns has not pitched since starting in AAA on Thursday.

Tuesday's Game Thread is now open.
