Take that, interleague play!

The Brewers stole one from the Twins tonight under some pretty unlikely circumstances. With two outs and J.J. Hardy on first base in the eighth, Jason Kendall hit a ball high off the wall in left center. Hardy was nearly tagged out trying to score, but scored to tie the game, and Kendall attempted to take third during the play. Nick Blackburn picked up the bobbled ball and attempted to throw Kendall out at third, but the throw sailed into left field and Kendall scored the game-winning run. Trevor Hoffman, who had been warming to pitch the ninth anyway, recorded a scoreless ninth for the save.

The Brewers would not have had an opportunity to steal this one away if not for an excellent effort from the bullpen. Mitch Stetter struck out the side in the seventh, the 12th, 13th and 14th consecutive outs he's recorded via the K, extending his franchise record streak. Todd Coffey allowed one hit and struck out one while recording a scoreless eighth. They picked up the pieces left behind by Braden Looper, who allowed three runs on five hits and four walks in six innings for a rare Brewer quality start.
