Can the Yovani Gallardo and the Brewers slow down the Braves and rookie phenom Tommy Hanson, and prevent themselves from falling below .500? Follow the jump for today's pitching matchup and conversation on tonight's exciting action!

Tommy Hanson (5-0, 3.00) made his major league debut against the Brewers six weeks ago, and still has yet to lose a game. The Brewers knocked him around a bit in his debut, hitting three home runs en route to tagging him for six earned runs in six innings. Since then, he's posted a 2.14 ERA in 42 innings, and he struck out a career high eleven in seven innings last time out.

Yovani Gallardo (8-7, 3.28) comes into today's game having lost five of his last seven decisions, posting a 3.97 ERA over those eight starts. Gallardo has faced the Braves twice and is 1-0 with a 1.20 ERA in 15 innings of work.

Gallardo will probably be counted on to eat some innings tonight, because the bullpen took another beating last night and is in rough shape:

Chris Smith pitched 1.2 innings (34 pitches) last night.Seth McClung pitched 1 inning (25 pitches) last night before leaving the game due to injury.Carlos Villanueva pitched 1 inning (25 pitches) last night.
Mitch Stetter pitched .1 innings (4 pitches) last night, and also pitched Tuesday and Wednesday.Mark DiFelice last pitched on Wednesday.Todd Coffey last pitched on Wednesday.
Trevor Hoffman
last pitched on Tuesday.

Enjoy the game!
