First, let me say thank you to our fearless competitors. Some of you put up a tough battle; others, not so much. Myself, I took the lead in the CBS league about a week ago after lingering around 5th-6th, but couldn't hold on.
I know that people have ideas for how to improve on the league(s) for next year, so we'll discuss that and find out the FINAL STANDINGS after the jump.
Standing a top a pile of 24 competitors, the winner of BCB Fantasy Baseball '10, finishing one point ahead of second place is...
The Prince & The Hoffer, managed by GoGregGo! Congratulations, supporter of Greg, you have won bragging rights for the offseason! At the end of the season, here is the winning squads lineup:
C Ramon Castro
1B Joey Votto
2B Howie Kendrick
3B Evan Longoria
SS Alexei Ramirez
OF David Murphy
OF Curtis Granderson
OF Jose Tabata
UT Alex Gonzalez
UT Shin-Soo Choo
P Chad Billingsley
P Clayton Kershaw
P Roy Oswalt
P Jeremy Guthrie
P Joakim Soria
P Joel Hanrahan
P Brian Duensing
P Travis Wood
P Jordan Zimmerman
P Nick Blackburn
BENCH Orlando Hudson
BENCH Mark Reynolds
BENCH Miguel Olivo
BENCH Max Scherzer
BENCH Brandon Webb
The inclusion of guys like Brandon Webb, Jordan Zimmerman and Ramon Castro make me wonder if GoGregGo was even managing his team over the year. Go figure he ends up winning anyway.
Here are the total final standings with the italicized teams being from the Yahoo league and the normal font being from the CBS league:

So, if the same 28 teams, with no additions or subtractions, played next year, the top 14 (through dtmeyers) would make the "Premier League" for next years fantasy leagues. The bottom 14 would comprise the lesser league and would be playing to join the premier league in future seasons. Of course, there won't be the same exact teams next year; some will drop out and some (hopefully) will join. When this happens, newbies will be in the second league and everyone will move up a place accordingly. Thus, for instance, if I dropped out next year and user X decided to join, user X would join the second league well everyone else moves up a place, causing Michael M to join the Premier League.
We'll figure out exactly how things will end up when we start gauging interest for next year. We might end up having three leagues, for all I know.
I know that people have suggested we do head to head instead of rotisserie next year, and I think I am definitely in favor of that as well. Also, complaints about the CBSsports.com Fantasy Commissioner League platform (Dikembe, I know you in particular did not like it). If the kind folks at CBSsports.com offer to give us a league for free and pay BCB to promote it, I'll be honest, I'm not going to turn down any money they want to give out. Maybe I'll just have the newbies use it or something, I don't know.
Any suggestions or complaints, bragging or bitching, get it out of your system now. We're a long ways from talking about Fantasy Baseball again.
