Well that was a waste of a Yovani Day.

In his first start after signing his new contract, Yovani didn't do much to inspire confidence.  It didn't take long, as the Cardinals put four runs on the board in the second inning, including a three run homer by Yadier Molina.  The Cardinals scored a couple more in the fifth, and one more in the sixth on a homer by Colby Rasmus.  Gallardo wasn't getting much help from the homeplate ump, either.  Several people commented in the gamethread on how the strikezone seemed to be moving all over the place, especially at the outset of the game.

But the Brewers bats weren't going to keep them in the game either.  Corey Hart was the only Brewer with two hits, and he and Rickie Weeks were the only two Brewers to get on base more than twice.

Manny Parra and Claudio Vargas finally got into a game today, so good for them.
